MEET TESS
Hey there! I’m Tess, the coach of the DG Mama’s class.
As an active woman entering motherhood, I found myself yearning to know more about what was happening in my body as I was growing my baby and recovering from birth.
I became certified as a pregnancy/postpartum specialist and am so excited to coach specifically in this area. Working with women who are pregnant, have recently given birth or are 10 years postpartum and never reconnected has reinforced the truth of our resilient bodies.
We are not broken, nor are we destined to pee our pants for the rest of our lives. Like any relationship, our relationship with our physical bodies needs tending. Especially when we go through massive change! That means meeting ourselves in gentle reconnection and rebuilding the safety of bearing weight and embracing impact.
Pregnancy is a massive physiological change and our bodies require more than 6 weeks off and a jump back into ‘normal life.’ If you are a mama in any stage of life, I’d love to work with you!
What’s it all about?
The heart of this class is to hold space for women in any stage of motherhood to come, with or without their baby, and pursue deeper connection with themselves and their body.
Classes combine deep core/pelvic floor with strength building. We also aim to provide a deeper understanding of what happens in our physical bodies as we become mothers and participate in our daily lives following birth.
"To consider the physical changes of a pregnant body is not to shrink back in fear and bask in the illusion of fragility, but rather to be empowered by the manifestation of original design.”
The pregnant body can remain strong and connected throughout pregnancy and postpartum. and is in a season of preparing for the most astounding physical feat possible: creating and delivering life into the world.
The body has specific needs during pregnancy and recovery from birth, yet still requires appropriate challenge, resistance and connection. Join us for some good community, movement and an appropriate amount of chaos as we work out with our littles!
What women are saying
“It’s so nice to be with other mamas, going through the same things, and get a workout in at the same time.”
“I love knowing I can show up and it will be exactly what my body needs!”
