Responsibleness is the very essence of human existence...
This week I read a passage out of Man’s Search for Meaning and it’s something I just cannot get out of my head.
This passage encapsulates the essence of embracing our own unique journey and unleashing the incredible potential within each of us.
"What matters, therefore, is not that the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person's life at a given moment. One should not be searching for an abstract meaning of life. Everyone has their own specific vocation or mission in life, to carry out a concrete assignment which demands fulfillment.
Therin, one cannot be replaced, nor can life be repeated. Thus, everyone's task is as unique as is ones specific opportunity to implement it. As each situation in life represents a challenge to one and presents a problem for them to solve, the question of the meaning of life may actually be reversed.
Ultimately, one should not ask what the meaning of life is, but rather they must recognize that it is they who are asked. In a word, each one is questioned by life; and they can only answer to life by answering to their own lives; to life they can only respond by being responsible. Responsibility is our ability to respond to life's challenges, to step into our power, and to shape our destinies. It's about moving from reacting to life to embracing it with intention and purpose. This journey is uniquely human, and it's an invitation to growth, resilience, and self-discovery.
